Division Head, Pediatric Endocrinology
The new Division Head serves a critical leadership role in growing, developing, and maintaining programs within the division. The division is nationally known for its physician expertise, high-quality patient care and state-of-the-art diagnostic testing and nationally ranked by U.S. News & World Report for pediatric diabetes and endocrinology. In partnership with La Rabida Children’s Hospital, their endocrinologists staff Chicago’s only pediatric diabetes program certified by the American Diabetes Association, demonstrating the highest standards for diabetes care. Lurie Children’s is committed to tracking important patient measures and working to prevent complications of the disease. They care for more than 2,000 patients with diabetes, making them one of the largest diabetes programs in the state. This is an outstanding opportunity to lead a division at a top-tier, independent children’s hospital affiliated with an outstanding medical school and research university (Northwestern). The new Division Head will cultivate the highest standards of clinical excellence, innovation in research, education/training, and advocacy – echoing the four central domains of focus at Lurie Children’s.
The Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is a world-class, research intensive, pediatric health center affiliated with the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Lurie Children’s conducts more pediatric research than any other children’s hospital in the region and is nationally ranked in 10 pediatric specialties. Providing outpatient care at 13 locations, it also has 5 primary care location throughout the Chicagoland area and maintains partnerships with 3 partner hospitals in the region. Additionally, Prentice Women’s Hospital at Northwestern Memorial Hospital is the largest birthing center in the region and is a partner hospital with Lurie Children’s.
The Ideal Candidate will be a MD/DO who is a visionary and strategic leader with knowledge and experience in a comprehensive academic university setting. The candidate will have a proven record as a problem solver and the ability to implement innovative solutions to contemporary challenges. The new Division Head will have demonstrated leadership in clinical care, development of research, and/or administration and strong clinical expertise, along with a proven track record of research within the field of Pediatric Endocrinology. Must have or be able to obtain an unrestricted Illinois medical license.
