General Surgery Residency Program Director Opportunity in Hudson, FL
HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital in conjunction with the University of South Florida College of Medicine is seeking an exceptional general surgeon to join our residency as Program Director
Qualified Candidates:
- Established general surgery residency program started in 2018/2019
- Per the ACGME’s formal requirements to be considered for Program Director, applicants must have:
- Current/prior academic appointment as Associate Program Director or Program Director within the past five (5) years
- Minimum of three (3) years of formal academic medicine positions and training program teaching and administration experience
- Documented scholarly activity in the form of research, publications, poster presentations, journals, book chapters, etc. within the past five (5) years
- We offer three (3) categorical surgical positions per year who rotate through general, trauma acute care, burn, vascular, pediatric, transplant, and pancreatic-hepatobiliary surgery
- Minimum of 30% FTE of non-clinical time will be dedicated to program administration duties
- Incoming physician will have the opportunity to apply for faculty appointment with University of South Florida College of Medicine
- Will be responsible for administration and operations; teaching and scholarly activity; resident recruitment and selection, evaluation, promotion, and disciplinary action; supervision of residents; and resident education in the context of patient care
- Must be American Board-certified in general surgery
