General Surgery Program Director Opportunity in Nashville, Tennessee Full-Time

TriStar Centennial Medical Center and The Surgical Clinic seek a Program Director to develop and launch a new General Surgery Residency Program in Nashville, Tennessee.

Qualified Candidates:

• General Surgery Board Certified
• Applicants must have a minimum of three (3) years of prior academic leadership appointments and experience per the ACGME requirements
• Be willing to combine Administrative, teaching, and Clinical Responsibilities (50/50)
• TN Medical License or ability to obtain
• Available 2024 to start program in 2025
• Interest in leading the development and implementation of a new program in collaboration with GME and The Surgical Clinic leadership
• Demonstrate administrative and leadership experience
• Will be actively involved in scholarly activities
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Details/Responsibilities Program Director:

• 0.5 FTE as PD
• Serve as an advisor and role model
• Teach didactics and lead curriculum development
• Resident recruitment and selection, evaluation, promotion, and disciplinary action
• Supervise residents in an inpatient/outpatient setting
• Maintain a portfolio of scholarly activities

Details/Responsibilities Surgicalist:

• 0.5 FTE as Surgicalist
• Primarily Inpatient, Outpatient only for Post Op follow ups
• Shift Based, 7-5 pm
• Manage Transfers, ER, and hospital consults
• Participate in fair rotation of hospital call 1:6, 1 night per week, 1 in 6 weekends
