TeamHealth has an excellent, full-time opportunity for a facility medical director to lead our hospital medicine team at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center in Austin, Texas. This is an excellent opportunity to practice with a leading inpatient medicine group, with a focus on patient care and quality.
In this highly visible role, the facility medical director will set the tone of the practice and lead the clinical team to promote and support a collaborative practice environment with department leaders in nursing and hospital administration to ensure the best patient care is delivered. Prior leadership experience is preferred.

St. David’s South Austin Medical Center, which is part of St. David’s HealthCare, is a 368-bed acute care facility offering a range of complex specialties. South Austin Medical Center is a 316-bed facility with a full specialty back up staffed with 8 physicians and 4 nurse practitioners during the day and 2 nocturnists. The average daily census is around 237 patients, and average admits at night are around 16 to 18. We work off of a 7-on, 7-off schedule and procedures are not required. South Austin Medical Center has a nationally recognized cardiac program with a level 2 trauma along with full pulmonary/critical care support with an open ICU.
