Medical Director – Health Insurance – Remote Remote Full-Time Part-Time NEW

We are currently engaged in sourcing several contract Medical Director positions within the health insurance space.

Some roles are Behavioral Health-focused and are seeking licensed MD/DOs with a Psychiatry background (board-certified Psychiatry preferred/required depending on the assignment). Other openings are seeking licensed MD/DOs with a background in general medicine/medical management.

Across these openings, we have both full-time and part-time arrangements available. Because of the nature of these positions, we are prioritizing candidates with active licenses in multiple states.

What you’ll do (varies by role)

• Perform medical necessity/utilization management reviews against medical policy criteria
• Conduct peer-to-peer reviews as needed
• Support appeals/grievances reviews and write clear clinical rationales
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clinical leadership

What we’re looking for

• Active, unrestricted MD/DO license
• Multi-state licensure strongly preferred
• Clinical and/or medical management experience within a health plan/managed care environment
• For Behavioral Health assignments: Psychiatry background (and in some cases board-certified Psychiatry)
