PCHC is the trusted primary care home for 30,000 patients and is seeking a Chief Medical Officer (CMO). PCHC has 11 sites and its care model integrates medical, dental, and behavioral health services. A robust range of ancillary and support services are included in the model. http://www.pueblochc.org/. PCHC is located in the family-oriented, multicultural area of Pueblo, CO (pop. 160,000).
The CMO is a member of the Executive Team and reports to the CEO. The priorities for the CMO role include a) active involvement in setting and executing strategic direction, b) leading clinical staff to achieve high levels of patient access and clinical outcomes, c) assuring the care model is integrated, effective and efficient, d) ensuring the provider staff is well-qualified, supported, and engaged in achieving the organizations goals, e) promoting an organization-wide culture of service, f) collaborating with organization leadership to achieve operational excellence and financial sustainability, and, g) establishing good working relationships with the local care delivery system providers and organizations and representing the organization externally with respect to clinical affairs. The CMO attends Board of Directors meetings with Executive Team. The CMO is required to have a limited clinical practice, including the supervision of advanced practice providers (APP). The CMO must possess exceptional interpersonal skills.
Candidates must be board certified in a primary care specialty (family practice preferred) and Colorado licensed. Experience required includes: at least seven (7) years of post-residency experience; at least two (2) years clinical administration or management (personnel management required); electronic health record proficiency; and Microsoft business applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel) proficiency. Preferred candidates will have a community/population health background, community health center experience, and a track record of effective leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills. Obstetrics and Spanish-speaking desired. The totality of a candidate’s experience will be considered and required experience may be substituted for preferred and desired skills/experiences.
Compensation:
· Market competitive annual base salary ($245,000-$300,000) , and additional pay for APP supervision

The CMO position is full-time and requires a minimum of 40 hours per week. On-site visibility, accessibility and face-to-face interaction with staff are required. Occasional hours outside of the normal business hours required. The CMO’s work load is significant however a flexible schedule and incidental remote working is supported.
