Trauma Medical Director – Thousand Oaks, CA Full-Time

SAMGI is seeking a BC/BE Trauma/ACS Surgeon to serve as Trauma Medical Director on the campus of Los Robles Regional Medical Center – a Level II Trauma Center in beautiful Thousand Oaks, CA.

The Trauma Medical Director reports to the CMO of our established, physician-led group and works closely with the key organization stakeholders at the hospital in Thousand Oaks, CA to advance high-level, patient centered care.

Core Responsibilities will include:

1. Preparation and leadership for the ACS Verification site visit
2. Trauma Performance Improvement (PI), including review of all trauma mortalities, and morbidities with potential areas of improvement.  This also includes leadership of monthly Trauma PI and Operations meetings, and loop closure with subspecialty liaisons
3. Regular meetings with Trauma Program Manager to go over Trauma PI, PI projects and any active workflow or clinical issues
4. Ongoing review and development of Clinical Practice Guidelines
5. Representation of Trauma/ACS team at all relevant hospital leadership meetings, the regional EMS committee, and any other ad-hoc meetings relevant to our processes
6. Development of Acute Care Surgery Mortality and Morbidity
7. Mentorship and guidance of surgeons and APP’s in team
